Quest Hero chocolate caramel pecan flavour.

Note: The use of allulose in food has not yet been permitted in Europe. So these are only available in the US at the moment. Sorry Europe 😔… Appearance: 🔹 These are about an average sized bar at 60g. Milk chocolate coating on a crumby, biscuit like centre and a sticky caramel layer.

Also note: this particular bar was smuggled in my suitcase on a 7 hour transatlantic flight, groped by a customs agent and sat on my shelf in the beltcave for 4 weeks so it does look a bit gnarly for that reason.

Texture🔹: Good crumbly texture, the caramel is spot on too, really has that stick to your teeth quality. Feels more like a biscuit than a bar (in a good way)

Taste🔹: The chocolate coating is really good and there definitely is a pecan flavour although pretty subtle (they do actually have pecans listed in the ingredients). These are very sweet though, almost too sweet for me bordering on the synthetic. So if overly sweet is not your thing these may well be one to avoid.

It’s a pretty decent macro split, now I know some wine will say “Too much sugar” and so on and the eagle eyed among you might say something like “how come the macros and calories don’t add up?🤔. Well as quest explains on the packaging: they’ve used allulose to sweeten it. It’s a newish sugar alternative that has less then 0.4kcal per gram. (Hence the difference in macros)

New sugar alternatives aside these are good protein bar, it’s nice to see someone thinking outside the box and trying something new. However i think the use of allulose and erythritol is overkill and it leaves bar with a super sweet almost synthetic taste that’s bound to piss off some customers. Shame because it’s texture was awesome.
